A curious, minimalist mompreneur
If I was only allowed three words to describe myself I would say:
- Mompreneur - a proud mom but also an entrepreneur
- Minimalist - why is minimalist a 10-letter word? Shouldn't it be minimal-ist?
- Curious - I absolutely love to learn
...mmm, I think I just found my elevator pitch:
Hi, I am a curious, minimalist mompreneur! And you?
My passion for design started when I discovered tools like Photoshop, Quark and Illustrator.
Back in 2001, while working for a marketing company in Argentina I had to work closely with the designer in charge of our graphic pieces. It was love at first design!
Soon after my curiosity led me to learn how to use these tools professionally. I was intrigued by their power but frustrated because I couldn't intuitively use them at their maximum potential.
I started designing for myself and for some friends, but before too long I was getting paid for designing posters, business cards, logos, etc. I can still remember when I saw my first outdoor poster printed all over Buenos Aires.
When designing I try to focus on what is being communicated. And believe me, I leave bells and whistles out of the equation. My designs tend to be straight to the point, clear and effective. And this is where the "minimalist" slips in.
So now, I have a passion, a talent and a style. Entrepreneurship here I come! I couldn't resist to start my own company and quit my "9 to 6" job.
A few years later, entrepreneur became mompreneur. With the birth of my daughter I decided to continue my career as a freelancer but adding an extra layer, because family always comes first. And she is my new inspiration!
Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
