Printing
More often than not printing companies contact me offering discounts and special prices. This happens mostly because they know that if a designer prepares the files for printing, the chances for error are drastically reduced.
We designers speak "printing", which also guarantees a desired final result.
I have tested many of these companies. Some are affordable but not that good, some have great products but their prices are very expensive, so finding the best combination is not always an easy task.
I have also tested their support service. They may print well and/or have good prices but what happens when something goes wrong, or when we need a refund or simply their assistance with a printing related issue?
After many business cards printed (I can send you samples!), I found my good combination: excellent printing quality, amazing prices and an unprecedented support system. I finally have a good printing company based in the US, which I rely on for my north american clients.
This company has an interesting business model. They work exclusively with graphic designers. Why? Simple! We save them a whole department. Because graphic designers can prepare the files ready for the press, it saves them a whole section of the company and precious time when printing.
So, not only will your files go straight to the machines and ship in 3 days (sometimes less), but you take advantage of discounted prices all year round. Obviously, some extra pressure is put on my shoulders as I will be responsible for submitting the files corrrectly, but I am happy to take this responsability.
